Dehumidifiers

Dehumidifiers draw air in with their fan, whereby the moisture in the air condenses into water droplets on a cold surface, the water is collected in a reservoir and the dry air is released back into the room. This is an excellent solution for managing excess humidity.

Types of dehumidifiers

There are two main types of dehumidifiers, condensing and absorbing. Absorption type dehumidifiers are used in rooms with low air temperatures. Absorption is more for specialised areas, or basements.

Condensing dehumidifiers for domestic use. These are similar in principle to heat pumps, where the air is cooled below the dew point, during which time moisture is condensed out of the air and then reheated. This dehumidifier is ideal for temperatures between 15 and 30 °C and relative humidity between 40 and 100%, i.e. in all indoor environments.

This mobile dehumidifier is very convenient, it does not need to be moved from one place to another, a medium-power condensing dehumidifier is enough to extract the excess moisture from the whole apartment, which moves in the air at lightning speed.

Moisture is always moving in the air towards drier places to saturate the air and condense, so if one room is dry, the moisture-laden air in the other rooms will move away very quickly, more quickly if there are viruses and bacteria moving around.

Therefore, it does not take a very powerful dehumidifier to effectively reduce the humidity in a relatively large apartment.
