Air purifiers

Devices to remove pollutants from the air. Air purifiers are typically used to remove allergens, dust, smoke and odours from the air, making them particularly useful for people with allergies, especially those with mould allergies, asthma or other respiratory diseases, and anyone who wants to improve the quality of the air in their living or working environments.

Types of air purifiers according to operating principle

  1. HEPA – these filters can trap 99.97% of particles with a diameter of 0.3 microns. They are highly effective in preventing dust, pollen, mould spores and other airborne particles;
  2. Activated carbon filters – these filters are used in air purifiers to absorb a wide range of odours and gases, and although they are not effective against allergens and dust, they are excellent at removing smoke, food, odours and volatile organic compounds, such as cigarette smoke, petrol and paint emissions;
  3. UV filters – some purifiers use ultraviolet light to kill bacteria and viruses;
  4. Ionisation – ionisation charges airborne particles such as dust, pollen etc. with electric particles, vanadium ions, these negatively charged particles bind to the pollutant, giving it weight and bringing it to the ground.

What to look for when choosing an air purifier?

  1. CADR assessment. The Clean Air Delivery Ratio (CADR) indicates the amount of air filtered by the air purifier. The CADR measures the efficiency of the air purifier in terms of the area of the room and the amount of clean air produced per minute. It shows how well the air you breathe removes dust, pollen and smoke – the three most common indoor air pollutants;
  2. Maintenance. Regular maintenance, including changing filters, is essential for air purifiers to work efficiently. The frequency of filter changes depends on the type of filter and its use;
  3. Additional features. Modern air purifiers come with a range of additional features such as air quality sensors, programmable timers and the ability to connect a smart device for remote control.

The best air purifiers

In order to buy a quality cleaner, it must have a high filtration efficiency, i.e. a high grade HEPA filter, a CADR that is suitable for your room, energy efficiency and additional cleaning technology.

There is a wide variety of models on the market, the vast majority of which are made in China, which means that the vast majority of players on the market are competing on price and design, where the efficiency and the components of the purifier are identical and often substandard.

In order to ensure the quality of our services and to provide targeted recommendations to our customers, we have selected a number of purifiers from our partners, the Italian-made Olimpia Splendid and the German Trotec, which have the most efficient air cleaning rate and ease of use.
